About the Director(s)

A graduate of the USC School of Cinema-Television, Maples is a writer/director who has won awards for his narrative and branded work. In commercial and branded content, Maples has directed spots for large brands including American Express, Boost Mobile, and Restoration Hardware. Maples won an international short film competition sponsored by Coca-Cola with his work "Saturday Night Zero". The short film premiered at Cannes Lions. Maples co-directed a feature-length documentary, "Pass the Music" chronicling the Los Angeles indie music scene. In 2016, Maples was a director on the documentary TV series "Undrafted" for the NFL Network. The season was nominated for an Emmy for outstanding serialized sports series. Maples directed the short film, "Jon & the Wolf", a comedy about love, heartbreak, and rock and roll, which played several film festivals, including Malibu, San Jose, and Richmond International. His screenwriting projects include co-writing two projects that became finalists in Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Impact program. His latest script, "Mia and the Skeletons' Night from Hell", won accolades from several contests, including Emerging Screenwriters and Screencraft’s Genre competition.

What is it like to navigate our world as an artificially intelligent robot? What is there to learn about homo sapiens in order to become as 'human' as possible?
